February is Black History Month, and it's a great learning opportunity for your children. Crafts are always an excellent way to engage kids and get them thinking about what they are learning. This Black History Month banner is the perfect way to help your children learn about our country's prominent black Americans.
What you'll need:
- construction paper
- Black History Month coloring pages
- crayons
- markers
- scissors
- hole punch
- glue
- yarn
- tape
What you'll do:
Print out and color some Black History Month coloring pages. We found ours on Coloring Book Fun, but you can use any ones you like. Once the pages are colored, trim them down to size and glue one picture onto each piece of construction paper.
Have your child label the top of each piece of construction paper with a marker.
Write three important facts about the person below their picture.
Punch holes in the top two corners of the construction paper, and then feed the yarn through the holes.
String all of your pages together, and then hang it up and secure it with tape.
