Superstorm Sandy caused a baby boom, as did Hurricane Irene, so we predict we might see a Snowmageddon baby boom as well. Yes, we know this blizzard wasn't quite as bad as they thought it would be, however, many people are still holed up in their houses, probably without electricity, waiting out the blizzard and looking for something to do. Cue the Marvin Gaye music.
If you've found yourself in this scenario, we have thought up the perfect Snowmageddon baby names for your blizzard baby.
Post-storm baby booms are a fairly common occurrence. However, it is interesting to note that the names of the storms actually made the popularity of the names decrease. For example, the name Katrina decreased in popularity after Hurricane Katrina. However, names that started with the letter K actually increased after the storm. The same situation occurred after Hurricane Andrew — even though the name Andrew decreased in popularity, names that started with the letter A increased in popularity.
What does that mean for Snowmageddon 2015? It means you won't see Snowmageddon Smith in your child's preschool class, obviously (which is a shame, because it really rolls off the tongue), however, you might see an increase in popularity with names starting with the letter S.

Perhaps a weather-inspired name is more up your alley? Nature-inspired names are a cool baby-naming trend, and you can always smile and remember what inspired the newest addition to your family (wink, wink).
Wynter is a gorgeous name for a girl and entered the Social Security Administration's list of the top baby names for the first time last year, coming in at number 949. You can also choose the alternate spelling of Winter, which ranks at number 673 on its popular baby name lists. This name is unique but not too "out there."
The storm took place in January, so the name January is a fun baby girl name. This is a great choice if your last name also starts with the letter J, such as actress January Jones.
We have to mention names inspired from the movie Frozen, such as Elsa and Anna. A more unique choice from the movie is the name Arendelle. You could also go with Idina Menzel (or is it Adele Dazeem?) after the actress who is the voice of Elsa.
For boys, the name Storm is pretty darn cool. If you would rather give a more subtle nod to Snowmaggedon, you could name him Jack, after Jack Frost.
Snow would make a unique middle name, or Snowden as a first name for either boys or girls, while Crystal is another pretty choice for your blizzard baby.
