Bell and Shepard announced on Friday, Dec. 19 that their second daughter had made her arrival. Their adorable baby name choice?
Delta Bell Shepard.
The hilarious couple didn't make the traditional baby announcement, as Bell posted this picture of a mama ape holding the hand of a baby ape.

Not to be outdone by his wife, Shepard also made an announcement via Twitter:

What is the meaning behind the name Delta Bell? The middle name is obviously from Bell's maiden name or last name. Delta is a southern-sounding name that reminds us of Designing Women star Delta Burke. Perhaps southern baby names will be a new trend, as Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are reportedly looking at these types of names as well.
Delta is actually the fourth letter of the Greek alphabet, which is fitting since Delta is the fourth member of their family. The couple also has a daughter, 20-month-old Lincoln.
Back in September, the 34-year-old Veronica Mars star told People.com that she and Shepard were "completely stumped" over baby names, before finally picking the perfect one.
"We had a little bit of a breakthrough. We've settled on one, thankfully," she revealed. "It's a lot of pressure, especially because we felt Lincoln was so perfect."
Bell admitted that they choose the name Lincoln for their older daughter before they knew if they were having a boy or girl. "He (Dax) always wanted his first to be named Lincoln and so we got lazy when we found out she was a girl and say, 'Hey, why not Lincoln?'"
The name Delta is a unique choice, as the Social Security Administration, the organization that keeps track of baby name popularity, does not have it in the top 1000 for the last 14 years.
Whether they call her Delta Bell or just Delta, we think it is pretty darn adorable.
