Glitter pinecone snowflakes
Supplies:
- 5 small glitter pinecones
- Glue
- Pine sprigs
- Ribbon
- Scissors
Directions:
- Glue the 5 small glitter pinecones together with the tips facing out to form a snowflake.
- Cut some small pieces of pine sprigs to glue over the center of the snowflake where the pinecones come together.
- Cut a 6-inch piece of ribbon. Tie the ends of the ribbon together to make a loop, then glue the knotted part of the ribbon to the back of the pinecones to hang the ornament.
Borax crystal snowflakes
Supplies:
- Borax
- Measuring cup
- Water
- Large pot
- Pipe cleaners
- Scissors
- String
- Kitchen utensil
Directions:
- Cut pipe cleaners into 3 sections. Twist the 3 pieces of pipe cleaner around each other to make a 6-pointed snowflake.
- Tie a long piece of string around the snowflake.
- In a large pot, mix together Borax and boiling water, with a ratio of 1/2 cup Borax for every 2 cups water.
- Suspend the pipe cleaner snowflakes in the Borax solution by wrapping the end of the string around a long-handled kitchen utensil (such as a wooden spoon) and placing the utensil across the top of the pot.
- Let the snowflakes sit in the Borax for 24 hours. Crystals will form on the pipe cleaners. After 24 hours remove the snowflakes from the pot and trim away the string.
Simple noodle snowflakes
Supplies:
- Small circular pasta noodles
- Glue
- Silver paint
- Paintbrush
- Ribbon or string
Directions:
- Glue 6 round pieces of pasta around 1 piece of pasta in the center, then allow the glue to dry.
- Add another piece of pasta to each pasta shape going around the circle to make the snowflake shape.
- After the glue has dried, use a paintbrush to paint the pasta noodles silver.
- Use a piece of ribbon or string to hang the pasta noodle snowflake.
