The private couple have yet to speak out on the birth of their baby — and they even tried to hide the pregnancy news, with Mendes covering up her baby bump when spotted out by paparazzi, so we aren't surprised that they haven't made an official baby name announcement.
We do, however, have new baby name details with The Mirror reporting that the couple is calling their daughter Preciosa, which is the Spanish word for "precious."
The sources are saying that this is not her actual name, but a nickname — which we suspect may not be too far off from her actual name as Mendes, who was raised in Miami by Cuban parents, has indicated she likes Spanish names. In fact, Mendes joked that her good friend Salma Hayek stole the perfect baby name when she named her daughter Valentina. "I was like, 'Salma, you took my baby name. And she's all, 'What are your other ones so that I don't take them.'"
We also know that they may have also included the names of their mothers, Donna and Coral. Donna is Gosling's mother's name, while Coral is from Mendes's mom's maiden name of Corales.
Baby Preciosa reportedly looks just like her mama and is a "mini-Eva" while daddy is throwing himself into fatherhood. "Ryan is madly in love with the baby. He changed diapers and assisted with the baby's first bath. He had tears in his eyes when the baby was born," the insider revealed.
Mendes is tired, but loving every minute of it.
"Eva's in the deliriously tired but blissfully in love stage where she wants to do everything herself," the source said.
We get the fact that they want to enjoy their baby all to themselves for a bit before they share her with the world, but hopefully the notoriously private couple will soon want to share their happiness with their fans.
