Spoiler alert: There's never a good reason why your toddler is crying. I promise you that I have read all the books trying to figure out how to communicate with both of my toddlers, and I have mostly given up. I still try to be a good, loving parent, but sometimes, in the heat of the moment, I choose to take pictures of their funny cry-faces instead of trying to calm down a tantrum. (As most parents know, "calming down a tantrum" is a myth. Just ride it out, wear earplugs, and move breakables out of the way.)
While my kids aren't featured in any of these Reddit images, they certainly could be. They cry at the drop of a hat, dozens of times a day. As one Reddit user said, "My 4-year-old daughter cried the other night for about two hours because she didn't have wrinkles on her forehead like me."
Sometimes these damn kids just can't let it go. Another user added, "Mine cried for almost two hours at school because she didn't get to push the garage door button on our way to school."
Yup, that sounds about right. You'll feel better about your tantruming toddler when you see these ridiculous reasons why your child is crying:
1. Eating cereal is real hard, mmkay
2. You'll thank me when you're older
3. Pretty sure adults cry about this too
4. Yeah, pretty sure adults cry about this too
5. The real Robert Downey Jr. is so disappointing
6. The real Bill Murray is equally disappointing
7. The gift that keeps on giving
8. Been there
9. How dare you celebrate my birth
10. AND this is parenting in a nutshell
