I find most dress code violations pretty laughable and that they aim at making young girls feel bad about their bodies, but on occasion a story comes along in which a kid was forced to remove a controversial item that I totally agree with. Like this case out of an Arkansas middle school, where an eighth grade student was told she had to change out of her T-shirt that read "Virginity Rocks" on the front. Chloe Rubiano, the middle school girl who wore the T-shirt to Ramay Junior High on Sept. 11, was asked to remove the shirt she had purchased at a Christian festival and change into a school-issued gym shirt. Because it would be just as controversial if a young kid wore a "Sex Rocks" T-shirt to school.

Chloe's mother, Bambi Crozier, told News 5 she was surprised by the school's decision because "this is part of sex [education] to me. Virginity is where you need to be." Which is just Bambi's opinion, because a lot of 14- and 15-year-olds might be a bit creeped out by having one of their classmates advertise their purity beliefs while they are trying to get their math on. There is nothing wrong with virginity or kids wanting to save themselves for marriage, but I do find the back of Chloe's T-shirt a bit troubling, because it reads, "I'm loving my Husband and I haven't even Married Him!" I have always hated the whole purity movement's belief that waiting until marriage to have sex is something you do for your husband and not for yourself. Shouldn't the focus of a young girl not wanting to have sex be that she believes it herself and feels she isn't ready yet and doesn't want to have sex, not because she one day might want to marry some dude who wants to marry a virgin?
Regardless, this shirt doesn't belong in school, and it would be just as distracting as some kid who wore a T-shirt lauding the joys of premarital sex. Can't all these kids just wear T-shirts with Pokemons on them or something?
