The Social Security Administration (SSA) just released the list of the most popular boy names of the year, as well as a list of those names that are climbing the charts the fastest but are not in the top 100 just yet. The most popular boy name of the year is Noah, followed by Liam.

Noah is the most popular name in the U.S. right now, but which names have climbed the charts the fastest in one year? The hottest new boy baby names last year were Major and Gael and this year's newest names are just as unique.
The most buzz-worthy boy baby name of 2014 is…
According to the SSA, the boy name that has climbed the charts the fastest in one year is Jayceon. In fact, Jayceon jumped over 800 spots to land on the charts at number 206. Why the big jump?
Pop culture has definitely influenced our baby naming trends. According to the SSA, the jump in the popularity of Jayceon is due to VH1 reality show, Marrying the Game, which stars the rapper Jayceon "The Game" Taylor.

Pop culture influences
It seems like many of today's parents were influenced by celebrity baby names when looking for the perfect boy name. The name Milan jumped up 650 spots in a year, perhaps due to the popularity of The Voice judge Shakira, who welcomed a son named Milan last year.
Deacon, the name of Reese Witherspoon's son, is on the list, as is Magnus, who happens to be the name of several celebrity baby boys, including Will Ferrell, Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles and Elizabeth Banks.

TV shows were another place parents seem to get baby name inspiration. The name Jase, as well as the alternate spelling Jayse, both made the list possibly due to the popularity of Duck Dynasty's Jase Robertson.
The name Castiel jumped over 400 spots, due to the character of the same name on the TV show Supernatural. Played by Misha Collins, Castiel plays an angel in the CW show.
Zayn (as well as the alternate spelling Zayne) also jumped over 400 spots, undoubtedly due to Zayn Malik from the boy band One Direction. Lastly, the movie Forrest Gump is celebrating its 20-year reunion this year, so we suppose it is only fitting that Forrest is moving up in popularity. Say it with me, "Run, Forrest, run!"
Tough names
Tough baby names are a big trend for boys in 2014. Names like Atlas, Duke, Stetson, Bruno, Mack and Legend are all powerful boy names that will guarantee your son will be the king of the playground.
It is interesting to note that the name Oakley was on both the boy and girl list as the fastest mover of the year.

Last names as first names
The trend of using a last name as a first name has really picked up speed this year. This is also a great idea if you want a unique name that is also easy to spell and pronounce. Some examples from this year's list include Langston, Miller, Gilbert, Edison, Clark and, my favorite pick, Hendrix.
Without further ado, here is the list of boy names increasing in popularity the fastest in 2014.
