Beach memory jar
Photos are a fun way to document your family's adventures, but assembling a seaside memory jar also gives you something to do with all those trinkets your kids bring back from the shore. For this easy summer activity for kids, plan ahead by painting the outside of a Mason jar light blue with glass tint and allowing enough time to dry. Once you get to the beach, have your kids fill it with sand, seashells, sea glass or whatever they find and pop in a photo of your fun day when you return home for a keepsake that's worthy of display.

Permanent sandcastle
Building sandcastles at the beach is a part of practically every family trip to the shore, but now you can bring your kids' creations home when you turn them into structures that will last long after you've returned home. Simply mix 10 parts sand, 3 parts water and 1 part white school glue in a sand pail or old can, fill your sandcastle bucket and unmold onto the sand. In less than an hour, the crafty castle should be dry enough to place into a cardboard box so your kids can take this beach activity home with you as a souvenir from your day at the beach!
