Felt Earth

Felt Earth

This felt Earth by Busy Hands Busy Minds is a great project to help kids young and old engage and concentrate. All you need is felt, thread and a needle. We think it could also be fun to make this project into a little pillow by using two circles of felt instead of one and adding a little cotton inside when your child has almost completed sewing the two pieces together. If you decide to make a little Earth pillow, sew the countries onto one side first before sewing the two sides together to ensure you don't have stitching on the backside of the craft.

Recycled robin

Recycled robin

Tweet, tweet! Forget social media; celebrate Earth Day by using recycled materials to make this cute rockin' robin craft from Outside with Marghanita with your child. Can you believe these darling robins originated from old cereal boxes? Make them for Earth Day and save them to decorate your rustic table at Christmastime.

Recycled milk carton dump truck

Recycled milk carton dump truck

Before you toss that milk container, think about a fun way to turn it into something new. We love this creative milk carton dump truck tutorial from Origami Mommy — and we bet your kids will too. The truck even has working wheels (yes, those too are made from recycled materials you probably have around the house already) to ensure countless hours of fun for little ones once the craft is completed.

Shaving cream Earth

Shaving cream Earth

Get messy this Earth Day with a fun craft using just three ingredients — shaving cream, food coloring and a paper plate. Fit Kids Clubhouse blogger Liz, a teacher, was inspired by the book Diary of a Worm and her own students to create this unique Earth Day craft. We don't think Dad will mind if you and the kids borrow his shaving cream for this one.

Earth Day sign

Earth Day sign

This simple sign inspired by We Made That can be so much fun to make by first gathering all of the materials. We encourage you to spend the day outside with your kids gathering these materials over the course of a family nature walk, using items that have already fallen off plants (versus picking flowers from a plant). When you return, spread out your materials and get crafting with just a few additional materials including construction paper, glue and a pencil.

Green tip:

When creating Earth Day crafts, be mindful to use recycled materials to reduce additional waste.
