All you'll need is some felt, glue and scissors to make these adorable St. Patrick's Day magnets. This craft is simple enough for the littlest kids in the family, but older kids can get creative and make their own versions as well.
Supplies:
- Assorted colors of craft felt
- Scissors
- Pen or pencil
- Paper
- Self-stick magnets
- Glue*
*Note: Regular craft glue doesn't work well with felt. For best results, use a glue made specifically for fabric or felt.
St. Patrick's Day rainbow magnet
Directions:
Cut concentric semi-circles
Cut out concentric semicircles for each color of the rainbow. Beginning with purple, make each ring 1/4 inch larger than the previous ring.
Assemble and glue
Glue the semicircles on top of each other, from largest to smallest. Once the glue is dry, apply a self-stick magnet to the back of the rainbow.
Pot o' gold magnet
Directions:
Cut out pot and gold pieces
Draw a pot on a piece of paper, then cut the pot out to use as a template. Cut out the pot by cutting around the template on black felt. Cut several small circles out of gold felt.
Assemble and glue
Glue the circles on top of each other in the shape of a triangle to make the gold coins. Glue the bottom edge of the gold coins behind the rim of the pot. Turn the felt over and apply a magnet to the back.
Lucky shamrock magnet
Directions:
Cut shamrock shapes from felt
Draw the shape of a shamrock on a piece of paper, then cut out the shape. Use the paper template to cut out a shamrock from green felt. Cut 2 smaller shamrocks that will layer on top of the larger shamrock. You can alternate colors if you like.
Assemble and glue
Glue the shamrock shapes on top of each other. Once the glue is dry, apply a magnet to the back of the shamrock.
